My Approach For A Successful Journey
WITH STUDENTS
I take the students through an exploration process to achieve a clearer understanding of who they are, their goals and priorities for the future. This allows us to manage expectations, find appropriate options, and design a thoughtful college admission plan.
WITH STUDENT’S ADULT SUPERVISOR
I interview the adult(s) to gain insight into other college fit factors such as: who they believe their student to be, what are their desires and goals for the future, what geographic location is acceptable, and even what budget the adult feels comfortable with.
CULMINATION
The sum of this information is used to build a comprehensive, personalized college selection list as well as an application plan that is broken down into small approachable tasks that don’t overwhelm the student.

I help students and supervising adults decide how to optimize the student’s coursework, testing schedules, summers, and after-school hours to meet the right balance of passion, work, and play. By knowing the demands of a student’s time, for instance, exam schedules, after-school activities, student jobs, or even when the student needs a day off, I can develop a plan for a effective application process!
College List Development
Helping students develop a balanced college list is the heart of our collaborative work! I guide students as they envision their ideal college environment and partner with them to create a balanced list of colleges where they know they'll fit in academically, socially, environmentally, and emotionally.
Extracurricular Activity Review
Evaluate academic achievements, extracurricular activities, community service and work experience to craft a cohesive application that tells an authentic story. With my advice and guidance, students present their leadership and involvement in the most effective way.
Comprehensive Plan And Schedule
To keep the student on task I develop complete project maps that reflect all the components, deadlines, and essay development schedules that the student may need!

Development And Revisions
The personal narrative writing required for college essays is very different from those practiced in most high school English classes. I work with students to show them how to master this style of writing and showcase their authentic selves and stories throughout different essay formats, supplements, and personal statements.

Sometimes you only get 30 minutes to impress an admission counselor. I work with students to be prepared and comfortable in this important step of the process so that they can retain the interview skills they need for life!
Navigating Admission Offers
I help the student and supervising adult evaluate offers of admission – deciding where to enroll and guidance on how to handle deferral and waitlist decisions.
